Since being founded in 2002, MJ Kanny Architect has evolved to become one of Kuala Lumpur’s prime architectural experts. Its entire team prides itself on undertaking award-winning, boutique-size projects that flaunt a high degree of customisation, as well as personal involvement, from the client from start to finish.

Residential projects are the speciality of MJ Kanny Architect; thus, it is no surprise that its ever-growing portfolio showcases a range of bungalows and houses committed to top-quality results in terms of both visual aesthetics and functionality / practicality for the client’s unique needs and wants.

The firm has even been awarded a collection of awards for its dedication to architectural excellence, including being voted as one of the top 10 architects in Malaysia by Top Ten Malaysia Magazine in 2018.

Today, we sneak a peek at one of MJ Kanny Architect’s most recent projects known as Seputeh House. Scroll down to find out more about this luxurious, tropical-style house.

The ins and outs of Seputeh House

Seputeh House flaunts a not-too-shabby area layout of 2230 m². Located in Taman Seputeh, this 3-storey bungalow houses no fewer than 16 cars, eight bedrooms, plus more-than-adequate entertainment spaces and living quarters that culminate in an eye-catching infinity edge pool and lush garden.

Designed in the modern style, this house presents an open-plan layout with carefully detailed screens and partitions in case some privacy is required by its residents and their guests.

Spa-like interiors

Even the hallway (an overlooked space by many homeowners and regarded more as an “in-between zone” than an actual space worthy of visual splendour and functional pieces) sports a top-notch design that immediately makes one feel calm and collected thanks to its abundance of space, clean-and-calm style, that internal water feature, plus the lush garden views flooding indoors via those generous windows.

The formal living room

Available for anything from afternoon tea to a book club's meetings, this formal living room presents soft seating options, a generous dose of lighting (both natural and artificial), stylish views of that exterior swimming pool, and an overall subtle design and colour palette.

The formal dining room

Joining the formal living room in its open-plan layout is the formal dining room, creatively located behind an open bookshelf that (very subtly) separates these two adjoining zones.

Notice its exquisite furnishings that lend some soft, curvy pieces to the space, including that Oriental-style table and the eye-catching (and super contemporary) lighting fixture dangling above it.

The bedroom with a tremendous view

Main bedroom designs don’t get any more tranquil than this… Designed to be an extension of that lush tropical garden outside, this main suite enjoys one of the best views in the entire house. Even more so since it gets a front-row seat of that serene pool with its infinity edge, which was cleverly designed to integrate seamlessly with the house.

Let’s scope out a few more visuals that further speak of the deluxe style of Seputeh House.
